Halloween is just a month away, so we thought we’d put together a list of our favorite movies for Halloween, after all Halloween is a holiday made for scary movies! Whether you want to scare yourself and your friends or enjoy a classic with your family, there is a Halloween movie that is perfect for you. Check out the following categories:

• Scary Movies. There is no lack of scary movies that are perfect for Halloween! Jamie Lee Curtis is terrorized in Halloween, Halloween II, and Halloween H20 (among other Halloween movies). The Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th Series are classics, but still sure to scare your whole family! The Ring and The Grudge are definitely creepy, in a slightly different way.
• Ghosts. Can you believe Ghostbusters came out 23 years ago? It’s still as good as it was in 1984. Other classics include The Shining, The Exorcist, and Poltergeist. More recent but no less scary are The Sixth Sense and Gothika (which has the benefit of the always attractive Halle Berry).
• Vampires. Legendary director Francis Ford Coppola takes on Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Bela Lugosi as Dracula in the 1931 movie is another must-see, both for its story and its cult appeal. The Lost Boys made a splash in 1987, with its extremely attractive vampires, and Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt give stellar performances in Interview with the Vampire.
• Werewolves. An American Werewolf in London, gives a great view of London as well as a werewolf. Also don’t forget An American Werewolf in Paris and The Wolf Man collection.
• Zombies. Halloween without zombies? Not if you have the DVDs for Evil Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Army of Darkness or Day of the Dead!
• Witches. As for witches, we have some familiar names and faces in Hocus Pocus, teenage witches in The Craft, and a family-friendly movie in Witches.
• Great Halloween Movies for Families. The Addams Family, Beetlejuice,and of course It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown won’t be too scary for most little ones.
